Ad naming schema
If your team names Meta ads with a consistent convention - something like UGC_9x16_urgency for hook, format, and angle - Ad naming schema (in Brand & data management) parses that convention into structured fields your agent and reports can group by, instead of leaving it as one opaque string.
This page is Meta only. There’s no equivalent for TikTok, Google, or Klaviyo naming today.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”You define:
- A delimiter - the literal one to three characters the name splits on (for example
_or|). - An ordered list of up to 12 fields - what each position between delimiters means (for example
hook, format, angle). - Whether to allow extra trailing tokens - if on, any tokens after your last defined field are discarded rather than causing a mismatch.
- Open Ad naming schema in Settings for the active brand.
- Set the Delimiter.
- Add, reorder (with the ↑/↓ buttons), or remove Fields to match your convention.
- Click Save schema.
Only workspace owners and admins can edit; other roles see it read-only.
Field values are case-sensitive - UGC and ugc are treated as different values.
An ad name with an empty or missing token at some position doesn’t match the schema at all and shows as unmatched, rather than matching with a blank value.
Click Clear schema to remove it entirely; ads then show as unparsed everywhere.
Library coverage
Section titled “Library coverage”The Library coverage card shows what percentage of the brand’s Meta ads matched the current schema, a breakdown of how many ads fall under each distinct value per field, and a sample of names that didn’t match - useful for spotting a typo’d delimiter or an outlier naming convention before it throws off the parse.
The card also shows who last changed the schema and when.
Where parsed fields show up
Section titled “Where parsed fields show up”Once ads are parsed, the field values become dimensions your AI agent can group and filter by through the query tool - for example, comparing ROAS across every hook value, or finding which hook × format × angle combination is winning. See Creative for how the dashboard surfaces creative performance more broadly.
